Run aligned, relaxed and effortlessly
09:30 — 16:00
Premier Fitness Centre, London N4 3JP
Places available: 10
Places remaining: 4
Chi Running teaches natural, energy-efficient running technique which greatly reduces your risk of injury. Injuries are often caused by the body being misaligned, putting unnecessary pressure on muscles and joints. Chi Running focuses on correct alignment and relaxation to create effortless, pain-free running.
Adopting the central movement principles of T’ai Chi, Chi Running logically shifts the workload towards your core muscles, allowing your leg muscles to work less. This helps create a natural mid-foot landing, greatly reducing impact on the body.
This 1-day workshop is suitable for all levels of runner from complete beginner to ultra-marathoner as there is very little running involved – the focus is on technique. It is also suitable for those running “barefoot” or wanting to transition to a more minimalist shoe. Much of the day will be spent working in the studio where you’ll learn drills and exercises to improve your running technique. It includes individual full-body video analysis and will cover the main components of Chi Running:
- Correct posture and alignment of the body
- Engaging gravity to create forward momentum and mid-foot landing, greatly reducing impact on the body
- Lifting and relaxing ankles rather than pushing from your toes
- Correct arm swing and upper body focuses
- Optimal cadence (strides per minute)
- How to increase your speed and stride-length with less effort
- How to relax and enjoy your running
A free follow-up session at the London Chi Running Club is also included.
Places are limited to 10 people to ensure personal attention. You can book your place below online below, call me on 07515 385593 or email gray@N8pt.com.
